In what areas will your intern need attention and furthr development as he/she begins their teaching career?
- Cassie is, by nature, a quiet and somewhat introverted person and will take time to come out of her shell when involved in department and whole school wide initiatives. She has much to offer, it will just take some time for her to feel comfortable offering!
- All beginning teachers need help in finding a management style that works for them, once the cooperating teacher is not involved.
- Cassie was able to effectively use both formative and summative assessments, aligned to standards. She will need to continue developing assessments that help her gather data for student understanding.
- Cassie needs to grow in her self confidence will working to maintain her humility. This is a necessary but delicate balance.
Strengths
What strengths is your intern bringing to the profession that are more apparent to you now as he/she completes his/her student interning?
- Cassie worked hard this semester to develop meaningful relationships with students. Building rapport with them, establishing relationships and earning their trust was paramount.
- Cassie accepts feedback and is willing to work on modifications needed within the feedback.
- Cassie is hard working and extremely creative. She works hard to encourage those two qualities in her students.
- Cassie is an empathetic teacher. She listens to her students and responds accordingly.
